Q: Does it hurt?
A: Yes of course it hurts, but it is a tolerable pain. The sensation comes from a cluster of small needles piercing your skin. After 10 mins your body begins to release endorphins (natural painkillers) which lessens the pain significantly. The pain also varies depending on the location. The fleshiest and boniest areas tend to be the most painful.
Q: Can I bring someone with me?
A: Absolutely, all we ask is that you bring just one person as waiting room seating is limited and won't accommodate you and your 5 friends.
Q: What does a Tattoo cost?
A: That's like asking "how long is a piece of string"?. Our studio has a minimum price of £20 and prices go up from there. Once you have had a consultation we will be able to give you an estimate.
Q: How do I look after my Tattoo?
A: We will supply you with a written aftercare sheet. We are always on hand anytime for any further advice if you need it. Just because you have left the shop it doesn't mean that we forget about you.
Q: Are the needles clean and new?
A: At Wicked Tat2's, your needles are new and never ever re-used. Your needles will be new and sterile every time you get tattooed. We are a Health Registered Studio with Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council and we abide by their strict rules regarding tattoo studios. Used needles may harbour infectious bacteria from previous clients and the needles will get dull after one or two uses. This is not acceptable practice at Wicked Tat2's and is not practiced in our studio. Needle re-use is unprofessional, a risk to our clients and not to mention downright disgusting! Tattoo studios are not required to disclose this information to you the client. It is vital that you ask your artist if your tattoo needles are new or used, not just sterile, NEW. If your artist skirts the question or tries to convince you that your needles are clean and sterile ask again if they are NEW, if they can not answer you with a positive "yes, they are new", get out of the studio FAST! Find a reputable studio that does not re-use their needles, your health is not worth the few extra pounds you may save!
Q: Do I need to make an appointment?
A: It is a very good idea to make an appointment to get a tattoo done here at Wicked Tat2's. There are several reasons for this. First, this gives your artist time to draw up a design that you want so that he is not rushed. Second, we can allow enough time to complete your new tattoo without being rushed. Third, nothing is worse than getting all excited about getting a new tattoo and driving out of your way and walking through the door and being told that we are booked up! No one likes this! So make your appointment in advance.
Q: Can you help me pick out a design?
A: YES! We will be happy if that once you have looked at the 1000's of designs in our studio and you still can't find one we will be happy to create one. A non-refundable deposit is required. Please bear in mind that if you do not like the design we have draw up for you, or you wish to get tattooed at a later date the design will remain with us. All pre-drawn and custom drawn pictures are property of Wicked Tat2's and will not be given to or sold to the public.
Q: Are tattoos permanent?
A: Yes, tattoos are permanent, they can be lightened by laser treatment, but the laser hurts significantly more than the application of the tattoo, so you should make sure that the design you have chosen is one that you are willing to live with for the rest of your life. There really is no such thing as "Temporary Tattoos" or five year ones these are just myths.
Q: Will the colour fade?
A: The colour on your tattoo will fade if it is not properly taken care of as it heals, or if it is exposed to the sun or sunbeds. Proper care of your tattoo is vital to its appearance and healing. Exposure to the sun will fade the colour just as it fades the paint on a car that sits in the sun.
Q: How safe is it to get tattooed?
A: In this day and age tattoos are completely safe if done in a clean environment by a professional with sterile instruments. There have never been any cases of AIDS reported due to tattoos. Hepatitis can be contracted through dirty needles in tattooing but this can be completely avoided by going to a professional who practices sterile /aseptic techniques and never re-uses needles or inks.
Q: How long does it take to heal?
A: Initial healing of a tattoo is about 5 to 10 days, complete healing tattoo is 45 days, this is how long it takes for skin to regenerate itself after being damaged.
