Tattoo Aftercare

Day 1:
Step 1: Leave your bandage on for one hour Gently remove the bandage. Clean your tattoo and the skin around it gently and thoroughly, with luke warm water and (preferably antibacterial non scented) soap, with your fingertips. The tattoo will be slippery at first, gently clean till the tattoo feels like clean skin, and you can visually see no dried /clotted white and red blood cells in the pores of your skin.
Step 2: Gently pat the tattooed area dry, with a clean hand towel or paper towel.
Step 3: Apply a thin layer of our suggested lotion.
Step 4: Let your tattoo air /dry out. Do not recover. Avoid articles of clothes that may rub and generally irritate your new tattoo.

Day 2:
Repeat Steps 1-4 as soon as you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed. Depending on how well you have cleaned your fresh tattoo, will determine the amount of scabbing that will occur in the next couple of days, so clean it gently and
thoroughly.

Day 3:
Your tattoo should peel. Ideally you want your tattoo to peel, just like a bad sun burn. At this time do not pick, scratch or cause the peeling skin to come away from your body, prematurely.

Day 4-7:
Apply a thin layer of moisturizing cream once a day. If the skin around the tattoo becomes red, apply a hot water compress for 20 seconds, and apply a thin layer of moisturising cream.

Day 8-14:
When all the peeling skin has vanished, your tattoo should have a shiny layer of new skin over it. Occasionally moisturise it, and always keep it out of sun. You'll know your tattoo has healed, when the skin covering the tattoo has the same
finish as the rest of your skin.
